In partnership with Federation University, we offer scholarships to Gippsland-based students entering their first year of study at Federation University’s Gippsland campus.
We have two scholarships available.
- Gippsland-based women entering their first year of engineering or science.
- Aboriginal students beginning an undergraduate degree.
Our scholarships provide $3,000 per year for the first three years of your course, with the opportunity to gain hands-on industry experience in our Summer Internship Program as you move into your final year of study.

2022 scholarship recipient – Georgie Lambert
Our inaugural scholarship recipient Georgie Lambert grew up surrounded by the bush in Traralgon South. It was Georgie's upbringing that led to her choosing to pursue a career in the restoration and protection of outdoor environments. She’s passionate about future generations experiencing the same enjoyment and benefits of our natural environment as she did. Georgie is studying a Bachelor of Environmental and Conservation Science. Georgie is a former student of Traralgon Secondary College.
2023 scholarship recipients
Indigenous scholarship recipient – Chloe Bethune
Chloe is a proud Watjarri Mardu woman and the inaugural recipient of the Gippsland Water Indigenous Scholarship. Chloe is studying a Bachelor of Education Studies at Federation University’s Gippsland campus. She loves community work, volunteering and is currently the Youth Mayor of the Wellington Shire Youth Council.
Women in STEM scholarship recipient – Ella Fothergill
Ella is studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at Churchill and is our 2023 Women in STEM Scholarship recipient. Ella is a Traralgon local and former Lavalla College student. She’s passionate about engineering and inspiring other young girls to pursue a career in STEM fields.
