We treat waste from our own wastewater treatment facilities as well as waste from commercial customers. This includes milk and food wastes, oily water, industrial, car, truck and machinery wash water, content from commercial kitchen grease traps, poultry manure and animal effluent, green waste, and food organic and garden organic waste.
Organic wastes we treat and compost
Reportable Priority Waste streams are required to be managed and transported via the EPA’s Waste Tracker. Priority and Industrial waste streams are required to be managed using the Gippsland Regional Organics transport waste certificates.
Reportable Priority Waste:
- Animal Effluent (K100-L-RPW, K100-S-RPW)
- Grease Trap (K110-L-RPW)
- Industrial Wash Water (L200-H-L-RPW)
- Non-toxic Salts (D300-L-RPW) liquid only subject to assessment for process
- Oily Water (J120-L-RPW)
- Triple Interceptor (J130-L-RPW)
- Car & Truck Wash Water (l100-L-RPW)
Priority Waste:
- Biosolids (K400)
- Food Processing Effluent (K200) includes dairy liquid and sludge
- Septic Waste (K410)
- Vegetable Effluent (K200)
Industrial Waste:
- Food Organics (K210)
- Green waste (Cleaned & Shredded) (W_5)
- Green waste FOGO (Cleaned & shredded) (W_4)
- Poultry Manure (K220)
Contaminated soil:
We can treat Category A, B, C & D contaminated soil, depending on the contaminant type, using the composting process to biodegrade contaminants such as hydrocarbons. Contaminated and clean fill soils are required to be classified as per EPA Vic Soil Hazard Categorisation and Management guidelines and a laboratory report for the full EPA IWRG621 suite of analysis as well as PFAS analysis provided to the Quality Assurance team for assessment of the soil for acceptance and suitability for the compost process.
Soil Categories:
- Category A contaminated soil (N120-S-RPW-CatA)
- Category B contaminated soil (N120-S-RPW-CatB)
- Category C contaminated soil (N120-S-RPW-CatC)
- Category D contaminated soil (N120-S-RPW-CatD)
- Clean fill soil (N122-S-Ind)
Landfill:
We operate a dedicated asbestos landfill at the facility, which is separate to the composting operation. The landfill is licenced under EPA for the receiving and burial of:
- Asbestos (N220-S-RPW-CatC)
- Synthetic Mineral Fibres (N230-S-RPW)
- Ceramic Based Fibres (N230-S-RPW)
