Design and construction of extensions to water and sewer mains
Design and construction of extensions to water and sewer mains are undertaken by consultants accredited by us. The property owner is required to employ a consultant to: design and cost the project, supply materials, and arrange construction of works using accredited pipelayers to our standards and specifications.
The consultant will charge a management fee for these services, so you may wish to obtain several quotes. The process is as follows:
- Contact an accredited consultant who will advise you on the costs and extent of the work involved.
- The consultant prepares the design and estimates for construction of the works submits these documents to us.
- We then send you an agreement, which includes details of our charges and connection fees.
- Sign and return two copies of the agreement and pay any charges.
- Construction can proceed under the management of the design consultant. All works must be undertaken by one of our accredited pipelaying contractors.
