The natural water cycle
Students discover the natural water cycle and how by changing states, water moves from the land to the sky and back again.
Level: Foundation to Year 2

The natural and urban water cycle
Students build on their knowledge of the water cycle to explore the urban water cycle. They'll understand where their drinking water comes from and where their wastewater goes. We touch on environmental and human impacts on raw water supplies and how we treat this water to make sure it's safe to drink. We work in groups to create our very own water filter.
Level: Year 3 to Year 6

Water efficiency
Sometimes we tend to take water for granted. During this session we'll build an understanding of why water is so precious and how little usable fresh water we have on earth. We'll consider the ways we use water each day; chat about some clever water-saving technologies; and discover simple things we can all do to help conserve water at home and school.

Water for health
Water is essential for us to live a healthy life. During this session students will learn why water is important for growing bodies; how much water they should drink each day; and what it feels like when we don't drink enough. We'll discover just how much sugar is in some popular sugary drinks and why water is the healthy choice. We'll also touch on why using refillable water bottles is good for the environment.

After the drain
Discover where our wastewater goes and how it's treated after it flows down the toilet, sink or shower. Students will learn the negative impact things like wipes and oils can have on sewerage systems. They'll understand why only flushing the 3 P's - pee, poo and (toilet) paper - is important to keep our sewerage system working at its best and our homes and schools free from a smelly mess.
