Gippsland Water is inviting customers to help plan and price the services their customers need, expect and value.

Managing director Sarah Cumming said the water corporation is seeking a diverse group of customers to register their interest to attend a customer summit, which will be held over several dates in March and April.

“Customers attending the summit will be able to discuss the issues, challenges and opportunities we face in depth.

“Participants will hear what other customers, community members and experts have said about our services and pricing – and then work together to come to a shared position.

“The recommendations from the summit will form the foundations of our next Price Submission to the Essential Services Commission.”

Ms Cumming said that this is a genuine opportunity for the community to collaborate with Gippsland Water on shaping the future of water and wastewater services in the region.

“This is about partnering with our customers to deliver the services they need in line with their priorities and expectations,” she said.

Expressions of interest to attend the customer summit are open until 25 February and around 40 customers will be selected to attend as representatives for the range of Gippsland Water customers.

Summit participants will be paid in recognition of their time and commitment.

“There are also other ways customers can get involved in our planning,” Ms Cumming continued.

“Our customer survey is out now – and the results from the survey will be incorporated into our price submission planning and discussed at the summit.”

Eligible survey entrants will go into the draw to win credit towards their Gippsland Water bill. The survey closes on 17 February.
