Water main upgrade to commence at Moe’s major roundabout

Gippsland Water is upgrading part of Moe’s water network to ensure ongoing reliability for its customers.

The works will involve replacing a section of old water main attached to the bridge between Anzac Street and Lloyd Streets in Moe, at the major Moe roundabout.

The Anzac Street water main was first installed in the 1940’s and feeds water between the north and south parts of Moe.

The $700k project will commence in mid-late May 2021 and is scheduled to be completed by late July.

Careful planning has taken place with VicTrack, V/Line and Regional Roads Victoria to ensure minimal disruption to customers, particularly during business hours.

The left turning lane from Lloyd Street entering the major roundabout will be partially closed to both road users and pedestrians for approximately eight weeks.

Parts of the intersection will also be partially closed. While road users can still access all entrances and exits around the bridge, detours are available for pedestrians.

Customers can be assured their water supply won’t be interrupted.

This work is in addition to a series of upgrades planned for the Moe water treatment plant which will be starting shortly.
