Applications are now open for Gippsland Water’s annual Community Support Program.

Managing Director Sarah Cumming said the program offers community groups an opportunity to secure financial support for their project or event.

“We’re committed to investing in programs and initiatives that support the wellbeing of our community, and our Community Support Program is one of the ways we partner with local groups to achieve that,” she said.

Support of up to $5,000 will be considered for projects that focus on water conservation and education, the local environment, public health and community wellbeing within Gippsland Water’s service area.

Ms Cumming said that applicants will need to show how their project or event will contribute to a healthy and sustainable Gippsland.

“We’re interested in supporting a whole range of projects, whether they be focussed on local sports clubs, sustainability and biodiversity, community events or art projects.

“Alongside financial support, we can also offer in-kind support such as re-usable drink bottles and portable water fountains,” Ms Cumming added.

Any funds provided by Gippsland Water must be matched by the applicant and spent by 30 June 2019.

Applications close on 20 December and successful applications will be announced in February 2019.
