Tap into free drinking water with new portable fountains
Gippsland Water is making it easier to stay hydrated at community events, with upgraded portable drinking fountains available.
The fountains have a fresh new look, featuring artwork by Gunnai artist Alice Pepper, and an improved design ideal for filling reusable drink bottles.
Managing director Sarah Cumming said the fountains were a sustainable solution to reduce reliance on single-use plastic water bottles.
“These fountains make fresh drinking water easily accessible during community events and lessen the need for single use plastic,” Ms Cumming said.
“Instead, attendees can bring a bottle from home and fill it up as many times as they need to. It’s a win for the environment and for your wallet.
“The fountains are also free to book and easy to connect to any ordinary garden hose fitting.”
Three pairs of fountains are now available to book for not-for-profit community events where a water main connection is available.
