Target your water use this summer

With the next few months forecast to be hot and dry, Gippsland Water is reminding customers of the permanent water saving rules.

Managing Director Sarah Cumming said that as we move into the summer months, people should consider how they can conserve water at home.

“The permanent water saving rules are simple, common sense things everyone can do to make sure they‘re not wasting water.

”We need to make the best use of our precious water supplies,” Ms Cumming said.

There are four main permanent water saving rules that currently apply for Gippsland Water customers:

  • Always use a trigger nozzle on hoses
  • You can wash your car, or water gardens and lawns with a hose fitted with a trigger nozzle at any time
  • Watering systems can be used from 6pm to 10am
  • You can’t hose paved areas

Ms Cumming said that using water responsibly is everyone’s opportunity to help secure water supplies and contribute to more sustainable future.
